After watching the bulk of the special online there's a lot about it that interests me.
For a start the new style of animation used for the characters is quite good, different, yet good.
The crossing of Saga's tying different aspects of the series together is also quite good with an early Saiyan equipped with scouter and tail featuring in a special set in the post-Buu saga.
It wouldn't be a Dragonball movie without a few plot holes though of course.
For a start, one of the new characters named Tarble - the younger brother of Vegeta - is incorrectly aged since according to Vegeta he was sent to a distant star by King Vegeta due to his lack of fighting ability. The problem with this is, this would have to mean that Tarble was already born on the day of planet Vegeta's destruction, making him at least the same age as Goku yet the character is drawn to more closely resemble the age of Trunks and Goten.
Another mistake is that Vegeta is dressed in his Android-Saga attire of Saiyan battle armour yet the story is set in a saga where he had ceased from dressing in armour and started wearing more earth-like clothes.
However by large the special is a welcome return the screen for DBZ and my only hope now is that Funimation and the voice cast team get together to make an English adaption for the fanbase.
Time however, will tell on that one.

Dude, no mention of Dragonball: Evolution? That seems WAY more rant worthy
